About the Author

Oboist Amy Miller is a member of the Bach Choir of Bethlehem's Bach Festival Orchestra. She has also performed with the Pennsylvania Sinfonia Orchestra, Symphony in C (formerly Haddonfield Symphony), Lancaster Symphony, Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra, Philadelphia Virtuosi, American Wind Symphony Orchestra, and in recital at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.

Since 2009, Amy has also worked full-time at the Curtis Institute of Music. She was recently promoted to the position of Director of Institutional Relations, overseeing all corporate, foundation, and government support to the school. She also co-directs the Curtis Crescendo Club young patrons’ group. She has served on grant evaluation panels for the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and the Philadelphia Cultural Fund.


Amy earned degrees in oboe performance from Duquesne University, where she studied with Scott Bell of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, and Temple University, where she studied with Jonathan Blumenfeld of The Philadelphia Orchestra.
